The international aspects of internet are nothing short of astounding. What other business do you know of where an absolute greenhorn, or newbie in internet parlance, can write a short article, have it published in a few days, and instantly have it available worldwide for viewing and reading? Not too many.
This exposure gives everyone who wants to use it a level playing field with every other online author. It does require that the articles published have interesting and informative content. Trash doesn't do very well.
When an article goes up on the internet, you probably think of people in your own country as the primary readers. Don't be surprised to also see that your readership includes Egypt, India, Japan, China, Indonesia, the European countries, the Middle East, etc.
This exposure creates an intimate link among nationalities that really isn't matched by any other medium. Writing is personal.
Not everyone is comfortable putting words on paper, or, in this case, on-screen, and having others comment or critique it. For those who are, however, it is very satisfying to know that others find value in your thoughts, ideas, and view points. Even if they don't always agree with them.
If you are a closet writer, venture out and let others share in your work. There are so many talented people who don't value their own work that it's a shame. The world can be a better place when people are open and honest with their inner thoughts.
Don't hide your light under a bushel any longer. Put your thoughts and ideas into words and share them. You never know who might be positively impacted by them.
You also don't know how you might be impacted by the responses to your writing. You might be pleasantly surprised. Give it a try.
